# [Write-up] How to Find the Number of Students on Each Plan?

**If you offer multiple subscription plans and want to know how many students are subscribed to each plan, there are two ways to track this in PracticeNow.**

## Option 1: Use Filters in Subscription -> Full History

This is useful when you want to check the numbers **occasionally** or create reports based on different criteria.

1. Go to **Admin → Subscriptions → Full History**.
2. Click the **Filter** icon (black funnel) on the right.
3. Type the **Plan Name** you want to check.
4. Apply the filter to see the students who have subscribed to that plan.

Repeat this for each plan you want to track.

This gives you flexibility to create different reports whenever you need them.

## Option 2: Create Student Segments

If you want to **keep track of the number of active students on each plan at any time**, creating a segment is more convenient.

Create a separate segment for each subscription plan:

1. Go to **Students → Segments**.
2. Create a new segment.
3. Select **Automatically add students**.
4. Under subscription criteria, select **At least one subscription**.
5. Select the specific **Plan** you want to track.
6. For subscription status, select **Active** and **Expiring**.
7. Give the segment a clear name, such as **Plan A – Active Students**.
8. Save the segment.

Repeat this for each plan you want to track.

Once created, the segment will automatically keep the student list updated. You can simply open the segment whenever you want to see **how many students currently have that plan**.

### Which option should you use?

* **Need a report occasionally or want to filter by different criteria?** → Use **Subscription History → Filters**.
* **Want to monitor the current number of active students on each plan at any time?** → Create **Student Segments**.

Both methods are useful—the right one depends on whether you need a **one-time report** or an **ongoing view of your student count**.
