Articles on: Recorded Videos

Why did my zoom storage exceed when my videos are being stored in Google Drive?

You have the add-on Video feature on. But you are getting notification from zoom letting you know that you have exceeded your Zoom Storage.

Why does this happen:

In your Zoom.us -> Settings -> Recordings: You might have checked both speaker and gallery view along with audio and chat files.
In PracticeNow, you would have chose the Speaker view version of the recording.
In this case, PracticeNow deletes only the one that it processes i.e. the speaker view version of the recording. The Gallery view version along with the audio and chat files remains in the zoom cloud storage.

In your Zoom.us -> Settings -> Recordings: You might have checked any one of speaker/gallery view along with audio and chat files.
In PracticeNow, you would have chose the Speaker view version of the recording.
In this case, PracticeNow deletes only the one that it processes i.e. the speaker view version of the recording. The audio and chat files remains in the zoom cloud storage.

When the add-on is turned on, but you have not checked the video settings at class level.
In this case, you go ahead and record manually that gets saved in Zoom cloud storage.

In your Zoom.us -> Settings -> Recordings: You might have the old files along with the audio and chat files would have taken the entire space

How to go about it:

You need to check and delete the old/not required videos directly from Zoom.

Steps:

Open a new tab on your browser [Chrome/firefox/safari]
Go to zoom.us
Sign-in into your zoom account
Go to Recordings to delete the old and unwanted ones.

Please note: The audio recordings and the chat files are not automatically deleted from Zoom. You will have to manually do it. In case you do not want them, kindly go the settings and uncheck this.
