What is an Upcoming Subscription?

An Upcoming Subscription is a subscription that has been purchased but is scheduled to become active at a future date. It remains in the "Upcoming" status until its active.
There are several situations where an upcoming subscription is created.

Scenario 1: Subscription for a Future Batch or Workshop

If you subscribe to a class, workshop, or course that starts on a future date, your subscription will remain as an Upcoming Subscription until the course begins.

Example

• You register today for a 12-day workshop that starts next month.
• Your subscription will be shown as Upcoming.
• On the workshop start date [i.e. subscription start date of the plan], it will automatically become Active, and you will be able to attend the sessions.

Scenario 2: Renewing Before Your Current Subscription Expires through Self Subscription.

You may purchase your next subscription before your current one ends. This is common for:

• Group classes
• Personal class
• Video courses

Where students want uninterrupted access to the next set of classes

How it works

• Your current subscription remains Active.
• The new subscription is created as an Upcoming Subscription.
• Once your current subscription expires, the upcoming subscription automatically becomes Active.

This ensures there is no gap between your subscriptions.

Scenario 3: Admin Creates a Manual Subscription (Without Changing Dates)

Sometimes an admin creates the next subscription manually while the student still have an active subscription.

When this is done without modifying the automatically suggested dates:

• The system calculates the correct start date based on your current subscription's validity.
• The new subscription remains Upcoming.
• As soon as your current subscription expires, the upcoming subscription automatically becomes Active.

Note: The system creates the Upcoming subscription based on the subscription validity period, not on the number of classes completed or remaining.

This means:

• If you finish all your classes early, the upcoming subscription will become active immediately the current subscription's validity expires.
• Similarly, if you have classes remaining but the validity period ends, the upcoming subscription will be active as soon as the subscription expires due to validity period

Scenario 4: Admin Creates a Manual Subscription (And Changing Dates)

If an administrator manually edits the start or end dates while creating the upcoming subscription, the system follows the dates entered by the administrator.

What happens in this case?

• The manually entered dates take precedence.
• The system will not automatically adjust the activation date based on your current subscription.
• The upcoming subscription will become active only according to the dates that were manually configured.

Important Notes

• Upcoming subscriptions activate automatically only when the system-managed dates are left unchanged.
• Automatic activation happens when the current subscription expires unless the dates are changed by the admin
• Future-dated workshops, courses, and classes automatically become active on their scheduled start date.

Editing an Upcoming Subscription

Upcoming subscriptions cannot be edited directly by admins.
If any changes are required, the administrator must contact PracticeNow Support to update the upcoming subscription.
